Cake Giveaway #10

I made this cake for a beautiful girl Hannah, who got baptized last week. Her favorite color is green and since its her baptism, I incorporated her fav color and CTR in the cake, top with a baptismal dress drape over the cake. I used shimmering edible dust for the leaves to make them extra shiny

Keenan's First Birthday

I had planned for his birthday cake for a long time. It was a safari jungle theme two tier cake and I was so excited to make it till we got an unexpected trip to make down boise the day of his birthday. I had no more time to make this elaborate cake for him. Nonetheless, with little time I have I made him a simple gift box cake with an elephant topper. The cake is red velvet layered with buttercream, covered in fondant, decorated with gum paste. All the kids in his party just wanted the elephant and gum paste decorations. They know where all the sugar is.

Happy First Birthday My sweet little Man

Cake Giveaway #9

Lime and Coconut Cake
I am not a big fan of lime in dessert especially key lime pie or lime custard. But i am a big fan of coconut, so when i saw this recipe in party cakes book I just had to try the combination. Oh boy this cake is all so good. You get a sweet, coconutty, tangy taste all with crusty texture from the toasted coconut. Not my favorite cake but definitely a keeper!

Cake Giveaway #8

This is a cake I made for twin Chet and Bailey. They love everything cowboy. The top tier is a cake wrap in bandana fondant and the bottom is a cowboy pants.  It look so simple but a lot of effort and mess came with it. I told my husband I am going to quit decorating cakes. But after seeing this, it's all worth it.

Playing around with Calla Lilly

I  have been practicing how to make calla lilly and this one is my first try. Not too bad. Now I only need a cake to put it on. So i made a chocolate cake covered in ganache. The contrast between the glossy dark brown ganache and the white calla lilly really brings out the dramatic colors.

Cake Giveaway #6

This is something I made long time ago. It was my first time working with cake covered frosting. I learned that you need a lot of bowl to put your frosting and tinting it can be messy but im glad it turn out alright. I also learned that piping is a good workout for your hand muscles. My hands is still sore from it

Two in One.. two cakes in one day that is..

I made this simple statistic cake for a Health Class. It is showing how many death per year lung cancer caused and since 90% of lung cancer is due to tobacco use, it is the single most preventable disease in the world. I use an edible marker for the wordings.

Along the cake were  cupcakes, all 40 have number in them that correspod to a tobacco statistic. There is a little notes on the side of the cupcakes that explains what the numbers mean. For example 1--- 1 in 5 people die of tobacco related product
Red velvet and Rainbow cupcakes

I made this cake for my sweet bro in law. Happy birthday Ammon. It was the first time I used awilton imprint mat. I must say, its a nice little tool to have. It adds fun texture to the fondant

My Daughter is 3

My daughter turned 3. Wow time flies so fast. I ask her what colors she wants for her birthday cake. Purple and green are the winner so here is a simple cake i made just for her. Happy Birthday Leia. I love You!!

Black and White Cake

I made this cake for my dad. My dad is a plain guy so its really hard to make a cake with a theme. Hes not into sport, hes not a fan of anything, he doesnt have a favorite color etc. So i guess i wont make a cowboy cake, or a football cake or a orange/blue cake. This is what i came up with.

Never had a Bday Cake

My mom grew up in a poor family. As in poor. She started working when she was 9 years old. Doing other peoples laundry by hand. None of her 5 siblings finish high school except her. She worked really hard and I love her so much. SHe told me last week that she never had a birthday cake before so I made sure this cake is blue her fav color and big to make up for those years she did not have one. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM. I LOVE YOU

Aquarium cupcake

My friend have this cupcake book full of creative ways to decorate your cupcakes, this is just one of them. Isnt this so cute. I think it will be better with jumbo cupcake, the fishes are a little crowder

My Neighbor's Cake

Our neighbor Brittany is an awesome cake decorator. She have this "almost too much chocolate cake" that i order in a regular basis when I was pregnant. I swear its the baby that want the cake. LoL... the sad part is they moved and so my cake. The good news is she gave me the recipe. HOORAY.. so this is my version of it and oh boy i love it.. it is chocolate cake inside with chocolate buttercream covered in ganache.Top with almonds

My First Frosting Cake

I made this long time ago. We never had oven in our house so I am not used to baking or anything. I always thought Cakes are something made by professionals. I also thought frosting is using whipped cream. The cake before this I covered with whipped cream. Well it did not turn so good. Silly me. But now that I have my own oven, cake possibilities are endless. This is the first frosting cake I made long time ago.. Not too bad I say.. and no it is not whipped cream this time. I made a cream cheese frosting

My first Fondant Cake

This is the first cake I made using fondant. I made a Marshmallow fondant There are few things i realized about using fondant. First it is not easy. The kneading, the rolling, the dyeing, and the mess. First time its always hard, hopefully ill get better at it.

Pink Castle Cake
